Colour Scheme
The colour scheme consists of blue, black and white. These contrasting colours stand out against the page especially the blue. The connotations of blue is spirituality, relaxation, earth - outdoors, freedom and strength, this compliments what society views in teenagers which is why the colour blue is relevant for the double page spread. The black tyopgraphy is to help make the font look proffesional.
Image
The image consists of the 3 band members slouching in bed. The image covers up one whole page to stand out and give the viewer a straight idea on what the article is about. The image includes 3 males wearing mainly dark, simple and casual clothing. The 3 members are slouching which supports the stereotype of teenagers being lazy. The background posters are nude images of females which also supports the stereotype of teenagers being sexually active also the bed prop symbolises sex. The 3 subjects are fitted in one bed which symbolises how close their relationship is. The wall behind the subjects shows messy and unhygienic environment. The other images on the right make the double page look more visual and less dull to look at.
Subject Name
The subject name is bold which consists of the same colour scheme. The subject name 'The Teenagers' stands out because of the large font and bold colours, this is so the band name and article is clearly shown in the article. The name goes over the foldover of the magazine which will attract the reader in reading the Subject name first.
Quotes
The quote 'Of course we're a sexual band. We're The Teenagers and thats all they think about' This shows a negative representation towards teenagers as it supports the stereotype of teenagers being sexually active. The quote represents and symbolises the band which suggests that the target audience is 15+. The text columns are written around the quote so both elements do not clash together.
Drop Capital
The drop capital shows the reader where to start reader and the letter is large to attract the reader which is why it is suitable for the article. The use of the black font and simple typography conveys a proffessional feel so the text is clear to read.
The headline
The headline is small which shows that it is insignificant however it carries the colour scheme so the article balances.
The By-Line, Strap-line, and Stand-first positions revolve around the quote and other images this is so the reader does not get side tracked into looking at something else.
